What is wrong when even the threat imminent war cannot stir the so-called intellectual elite the college students — out of narrowmlnded apathy and ignorance toward national and international affairs' However, wc prefer Stevenson because he has shown us the qualities of a strong leader and statesman. Eisenhowr- has not We like Ike. He is a good man. But he is not strong cnou, to control and direct the men around him. He does not juv the foresight and imagination to.be chaotic and rapidly changing world. .^^^^^^^^^^^ The Eisenhower foreign policy is tragic proof of this. It is led us to the brink of war and to a position where we are actually opposing our allies. The world is a mess today nartly because of his policies.
