Griffin was tied for 12th in the individual standings. In 13 years as head coach of the Fresno State program, Mike Wat¬ ney said he has never witnessed sucfTah intense Bulldogs' come¬ back before. "There's no doubt about it. There's never been a time when we've had so many heroics at the end of a tournament," said Wat¬ ney, who enjoyed his tenth cham¬ pionship.
