Lecturers are chosen by a committee of five students, five faculty members, and five administrators based on a variety of criteria such as substance, timeliness, relevance, scheduling and budget considerations. "Every speaker has a story," said Ken Pascal, University Lecture Series chair. Young's name has come up in the selection process every year since 1986, but this is the first year his schedule fit. 'That sometimes happens," Pascal said. "We're student oriented," he said." This is part of [the students] leamingexperience."
