San Jose threatened to tie the game in
the top of the fifth, placing runners at
first and third with one oul The runners
reached base and advanced without a hit,
as San Jose took advantage of a fielder's
choice play and two FSU errors.
Bui the Spartans' rally ended abrupdy
as Christy Eustice's grounder up the
middle deflected off Pan-em's glove to
shortstop Martha Noffsinger, who threw
home to catcher Laura Macedo.
Macedo, completely blocking the plate,
tagged Kelli Moulden out easily. Macedo
then threw to Lhirey-where Carie Dever
made a heads up play to double up Jill
Dolce.
Dever blocked the side of bag with her
leg, preventing Dolce from touching the
base just long enough to make ihe tag to
end the inning.
Tuesday's rain-out was the third game
l three days to be cancelled for the Bulldogs. Sunday's doubleheadcr at United
States International University was cancelled due to rain also.
Wright does not believe the cancellations will hurt the Bulldogs, who are
coming off doubleheadcr sweeps of No. 5
Long Beach and No. 7 Fullerton.
The Bulldogs leave today for three stop
road trip with doubleheaders against Nevada-Las Vegas Thursday, No.12 Cal Poly
Pomona Saturday and San Diego Stale
Sunday.

as the field was declared unfit for both
yesterday's game, the scheduled opener,
and today's slated contest
The No. 2-ranked Bulldogs, 41-6,
return to action Friday, opening a three-
game set with the University of the Pacific.
