LltUe Angels is one of those new hard rock bands to come out of the British Isles, but their debut album "Don't Prey on Me" doesn't really offer much. It would be nice to hear a fresh hard rock band, and Britain seems to be the one place' that can do that every once and a while, butthls time they failed. The band got exposure to large audi¬ ences on their tour with Yngwle Malm- steen, but apparently none of his talent rubbed off on them. A few of the first songs are basically AC/DC ripofls with the screaming vocals and guitars. Later, they run through the stere- otypical formulaic hard rock ballad On one of the ballads, guitarist Bruce Jon Dickenson has a good Spanish guitar part, but it's quickly covered overby the overbearing electric guitar. After the umpteenth rebellious phrase lyrically, the songs become trite. Such lines as "You gotta kick, and If they knock you down, get right back up and kick" could apply to a young concert goer as he's being pushed down by a security guard, but wrestling all along. That's about the extent of rebellious¬ ness in today's hard rock. Little Angels might as well pack It in now because they'reon the wrong course. They'll need a drastic change If they are to ever j$et out of the slump theyve started Jn. ^Be DOLLARS FOR COLLEGE ' No an* ■bwM M dHW a tigtm bKau» cimi' i«s txmia*3& • CoMoa MMea iXN audtt uh»j MBA • HMMH »B6Sur*wa*. k • Oram • um . ewBSTTjrr;. .-.."_--..-_-.-". mmmm* w--. Their new album. "Dark at the End of

rather than an album by a band, and a

why.
First they recorded the single "Weird

for movie soundtracks including "Bat¬

edges that previously gave Oingo Boingo
character.
None ofthe songs on this album offer
the energy, creativity and force of earlier
songs like "Who Do You Want to Be."
