NCAA Indoor qualifier Billy Coleman fjpUhpd finrt in ttu» nprn/intnronlUgiaM long jump with a 25-8 1/4 mark followed by teammate Lawrence Nelson (24-10). In the intercollegiate 1600 meter relay, the Bulldogs B team came up with a second place finish (3:21.69) to Cal Suite Northridge (3:1829). WOMEN While UNLVs Julie Harrison may have been awarded most outstanding woman in the Relays, it was a JC from Ml San Antonio that stole the show. After sweeping the JC competition in the 100 meters, Tina Iheagwan overwhelmed the open intercollegiate Heat I field with a time of 11.39. The second runner to cross the line was at 11.87. UNLVs. Carrie Franklin could not touch it with her 11.51 finish in Heat II. In the 100 meter finals, Iheagwan ran an 11.42 to Franklin's 11.62. FSUs April Freow ran an 11.90 in that race but achieved a PR in an earlier heat. Freow beat her lifetime (11.73) and season (11.87) bests with an 11.72 performance in the 100 meters in Heat I. Janine Ogas, a member of the Big West Championship women's team, improved on her season best of 10:13.17 in the 3000 meters with a 10:03.20 performacc. She placed seventh in the event Freshman Kim McRae had a season and lifetime best, in her college career, with a 1:03.75 mark in the 400 meter hurdles. In the field events. Donna McKinnon and Vickie Trask had lifetime and season bests in the discus as well as finishing fifth, respectively, "r McKinnon improved upon her lifetime and season best of 148-8 with a 153-10 throw, the toss places her fifth on the all- time career list Trask replaced her lifetime best of 145- 2, eighth on the career all-time list, with a throw of 146-4. FSU all-time discus record holder Lacy Barnes topped all competitors in the event with a 192-5 mark . In the shot, Joyce Fremstad move her season best to 43-4 from 41-7 1/2. Javelin hurlcr Chris Harris, No. 2 on the all-time list, threw a 156-5 mark, improving on her season best of 155-9. Harris placed third in the event with Cal Poly-Pomona's Durcllc Schimek (173-3) in second and Stanford's Erica Wheeler (175-6) in first Breaking a meet record was Cal Poly's 4 x 800 relay team with a lime of 8:50.9. Fresno State's team finished fourth in the event in a time of 9:29.55. Bulldog individual performances include a sixth and seventh place for Tina Gangnuss (37-11) and Staccy Lyles (37-9 1/2) in the triple jump. Women's basketball center and high jumper Simone Srubek finished third in the event clearing 5-6. Boise State's Kelly Baker took the event by clearing 5-8 and Peggy Odita, Stanford, took second.
