. Page 6 Sports RICHBURG Fresno State's best as far as being a hard worker, he doesn't have the accomplishments of Fred Little or Sylvester Carter, but neither of them won as many times as Allen," FSU Coach Dennis DeLiddo said, referring to two other Bulldog greats Richburg passed in his record chase this season. "(Richburg) belongs with Fresno State's best," DeLiddo added, "He's the greatest worker I've ever coached and the best team leader, too." Richburg has now gone 9-0-1 over his last 10 matches and is 26-8-2 on the year. His career record stands at 116-58-7 Walker, FSU's winningest wrestler in '87-88, also won all three of his matches for a first-place finish. The 167-pound Walker has now won 10 straight contests and is 33-7 this year. The tournament championship was his third of the season. Lloren, meanwhile, took top honors in the 158-pound class, and like Richburg, is 9J)-\ over his last 10 matches and 26-8-2 on the year. Other standout Bulldog performances came from 134-pOunder Jon Pierro, who grabbed second place in the tournament and/ 118-pound Darren Stevens, who finished third. Men's tennis finds going tough By Brian Veneski Sports Writer The Fresno State men's tennis team found the going a bit too tough in Southern California this weekend as the young Bulldog squad fell victim to two of the nation's top squads, UCLA and Long Beach State. FSU was overmatched by the more experienced Bruins on Friday as they fell 8-1. The doubles team of Pat Maley and Steve Galley got the Bulldogs' only decision, a 7-6, 6-3 win, over Jason Netter and Paul Schultz. At Long Beach. Saturday, Marcos Garza won his two matches for the Dogs, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in doubles (with LeClercq) antf 7-5, 6-3 in singles, and Pat Maley had another strong performance as he beat Long Beach State's Mike Bodon 7-6, 6-3. The rest of the team, though, was frustrated as it lost four three-set decisions to the 49ers and lost 6-3. The Bulldogs are now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Association.
