proves to be a blockbuster of entertainment Every child who grew up
on a diet of D.C. Comics will thrill to
Christopher Reeve's portrayal of the
Man of Steel

Dance and theatre
to share the stage
Dance and theatre will share the
stage in the Fresno City College Arts
Theatre on Saturday, Jan 27, when
Dance Renewal of 1979 will present
Tandy Beal and Ron Taylor The evening of professional concert dance will
begin at 8 p m , and admission is $3,
general, and $2 for students
Sponsored by such organizations as
the Fresno Musical Club, the Fresno
Dance Repertory Association and the
California Arts Council, the program
will include both solos and duets Beal
has been written of as 'a soloist of
considerable appeal, technical virtuosity and creative promise,' after performing in New York City this past
summer
Following their Fresno appearance,
Beal and Tayjor will continue on to New
York City to perform at the Riverside
Dance Festival, during which 48 international companies perform over a period of six months.
Beai, who formerly danced with Nikolais Dance Theatre and was in Fresno
in 1976, will offer master classes on
Friday, Jan. 26, at CSUF in the Wo-
mens' Cym, room 134, at 1 p.m. She
will also hold a class at Fresno City College in room C-101 at 4 p.m Admission
for both classes is »2.   -

Fantasy soars:

If the movie is to be faulted, it should
be in the sometimes non-serious
view that the characters have of themselves When Lois Lane (Margot
Kidder) asks Superman why he is on
Earth, he revives the old TV serial
line, 'To fight for truth and justice
in the American way.'
In another scene where Superman
is trying to find a place to change into
his outfit to save Lois, he approaches
a phone booth only to find ft one of the
modern open-faced type.

His super powers are only surpassed
by the viewers' power of imagination.
When Lois tells Superman that Clark
Kent says that the man from Krypton
is only a figment of the imagination,
like Peter Pan, Superman replies,
"But Lois, Peter Pan is only a child's

I highly recommend ft. If you have,
see it again. For two hours, you can
relive a child's fantasy.
