County currently has no NFL franchise On the other hand, Oakland fans are among the most loyal in the league and feel they are being abandoned after 20years of support. ' So why not give the Raiders to both cities? Come to think of it, why not give the Super Bowl Champions to the entire state? I suggest that the Raiders play their home game* in the heart of California—why, Fretno, of course. Now before you suggest that Fresno is unworthy of an NFL franchise, I should point out the fact that the Buccaneer* call Tampa Bay their home. Nobody lives in Tampa Bay; it's a body of water. So, if an NFL team is good enough for the Culf of Mexico, it' s good enough for Fresno. The Raider* could play their games in the nice, bright, shiny new stadium right here on campus. Sure, it seats only 30,000, but that would moan th* games would always sell out, insuring local TV coverage. And all right, perhaps the sideline drainage ditches are located too dose to the field, but hell, it's better than playing football on a baseball dirt infield. Just watch your ttep when you run out of bounds, guy*.
