Key Groth hit, Dalena RBIs extend FSU win streak to 21 Offense has been the key for the Bulldog baseball team for the past several This past weekend it was the whole story as Fresno State completed a three- game sweep of Santa Clara by taking both ends of a doubleheader Saturday 4-3 and I9-7. The sweep pushed FSU's win streak to 21 games, thought to be the longest in the country this season. FSU is now 37-10 on the season and 12-0 in conference play. Ken Groth lined a one-out single to right in the bottom of the 10th inning to drive in two runs, giving the 'Dogs a 4-3 victory over the Broncos in the first In the second game Pete Dalena drove in eight runs to establish a new Fresno State career RBI mark as the Bulldogs pounded SCU 19-7. Dalena now has 97 career RBIs. a new FSU record. He had four on a second- inning grand slam and three more in the third with another circuit clout. The wins meant more than effectively taking the Broncos, who won the Northern California Baseball Association first half title, out of the hunt for the NCBA second half crown. Upstart St. Mary's was busy sweeping three from hapless San Jose State, so the Bulldogs maintain a game-and-a-half lead over the Gaels. The second half will be on the line this weekend when Fresno State travels to Moraga. Calif, to meet St.- Mary's for Just as important will be tonight's rain makeup with SJS in San Jose. The Bulldogs are scheduled to play makeups with the Spartans next week, as well. The two teams were rained out before Easter. Los Angeles professor Bert Corona speaking on 'Chicano Labor Struggles in the U.S." The Clovis Marimba Band will preform at I p.m. and Las Adelitas will hold a reception at 2 p.m. in room 202 of the Cafeteria Building. Teatrodel Espiritu will preform at 7 p.m. today followed at 8 p.m. by the Mike Yturaldi Latin Big Band. Tuesday's events will include a series of performances by children from local* schools from 9:15 a.m. to noon. Alex Sanger High school teacher Ramon Pec- ina will present a program of childern's songs at 12:30 p.m. Mariachi de la Tierra is featured at 6 p.m. followed by an evening program that will include performances by Danzantes de Aztlan and La Mujer Con Conciensia. Actor, songwriter and singer Daniel Valdez, who appeared in "Zoot Suit" and Actor, songwriter and singer Daniel Valdez will present his company in a performance of the music he wrote for "Zoot Suit." "China Syndrome," will present his company in a performance of the music he wrote for *Zoot Suit.* Born in Tulare, Valdez worked on San Joaquin Valley farms before joining El Teatro Campesino in 1966. He later formed his own musical groups and entered the recording business. In 1976 he estabilshed Algeria Productions and subsequently produced the score for several Critics applauded his performances in the stage and film productions of "Zoot Suit* and he produced the sound track album for MCA Records. Currently his production company is producinga series of bilingual radio shows that are both historical and cultural.. Partial funding is being provided by National Public Radio and the National Endowment for the Arts. Semana de La Raza activities will conclude on Wednesday in C/Neil Park with Mariachi Nuevo Zapopan preforming at 11 a.m.. folk singers Lynda Mendoza and Carmen Moreno at 12:30 p.m., poet and lecturer Inez Hernandez-Tovar speaking at 1:30 p.m. on 'Women in the Mexican Revolution,' Ninos de Aztlan dancing at 2:30 p.m. and the Copa Cabana Band preforming at 3 p.m. A dance featuring the music of the Latin Connection will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the College Union Lounge. Maggie Castro is serving as chairperson for the Semana de La Raza celebration and Dr. Lea Ybarra is the faculty advisor.
