Student Body President Phil Sherwood pre- saelad has semester report and a visual presentation and Lupe Do La Cruz was elected to another semester as president pro tern of the senate. Legislative Vice President Dsve Collins presented s bow procedure for the discussion of bills in ths sensts. In the past when a Mil waa introduced it supposedly automatically went to committee lor discussion aad wss then soot beck to the senate with recom mendations. Recently, however. aanaears have passed motions to override the committee structure, putting many Mils on the floor Immediately for discussion snd vote. Ths new procedure modifies this two-third override rule by requiring the author of a Mil to submit the Mil to the legislative vice president several days before the meeting. The author of the Mil must st this time, declare if he plans to aak for a vote to override the committee structure. Senators hope that the new procedure will reduce the number of attempts at overriding the com- prevalent lately. In hla semester report.
