A statement by the Black Student Union j, the rr B.S.U's organization was not surprised at the actions of the Baxter administration's Nazi annihilation of faculty and administrators who believe In the democratic process of America. We, as Blacks, have experienced the same kind of repression that is now belngdlrected to white faculty members and admlnlstra- Durlrig the fall of 1969 and the spring of 1970, Black students and Black faculty members were aware of the vicious tactics used by the administration to completely destroy the Ethnic Studies Department and its staff. During the height of our confrontation with the administration, we appealed to white students and while faculty members to aid us In solving this problem. However, lt seems that the mass of white faculty members and students could not reUte to our "Black problems*. It Is apparent our vision Is now reality. In a period of two weeks, key white faculty members and administrators have been unjustly fired from their positions and also some have been fired from their teaching poslUons. White students and white faculty members can no longer exist Ume lor white si It ii Bobby Seale faculty members to move on this "white problem". This Is no longer a student problem. This ts more of a faculty problem. Students at this coUege can go, only so far In solving lt. In the past; white faculty members have stood passively by and watched other faculty members get offed by this coUege. Even the so-caUed "white Uber- als" did nothing. The so-called white Uberal faculty members and others have to get their beads out of their asses and do something. We are addressing this statement to the faculty (even tbe Black faculty). Students at this college are striking against the administration. But a strike cannot be effective unless the faculty strikes along with tbe students. It is about Ume that all studenU and faculty members (white, black, brown, red, yellow, green, whatever) unite and stop the fascist actions of Norman Baxter, Jimmy The Gun* Flkes (the number one enemy of Black and brown studenU at FSC) against those Individuals who are truly representing the democratic process of justice, freedom and Uberty. Power to Dr. Joe Toneyllll The Black Student Union
