It seems to your columnists that the college needs a new gym a great deal more than it needs to enlarge the present stadium, a project that the Board of Directors is Considering at the present time. Seeing an opportunity of getting favorable persons into office, they drafted fraternity brothers or sorority sisters. They were elected to the offices unop- Outsiders charged that under-handed v/crk had gone on. That, however, is not exactly the case. Although the methods employed can not be considered morally correct, they were entirely within bounds. No election rules had actually been violated. Al the last student body election one post was not even contested on the ballot. It was necessary to make a special ruling allowing write-in candidates to be eligible for the office. This should not have to be the case. There should be at least three or more persons in each race Without a doubt there are at least that many persons in Fresno State capable of handling each position. Today has been set as the deadline for the filing of petitions for offices in the four classes. Lets make sure that there are more than one candidate vying for each position—more than one'candidate having enough interest in student self government to take part In class elec- l!'-|.->.
