"meal prices in this berg are almost as high as at the FSC cafi-trria." ... at the COP Homecoming Dance, thc Fresno Staters outnumbered and outiived their hosts . . . one vc.eran of four special trains (known to put black shoe polish r,n the grey spots of his beard) watched enthusiastic rooters roaming Stockton and kept muttering, "Those damn kids." All in all, the trek to Stockton this year was not up to its u.-.ual fever pitch, probably because of transportation difficulties and the fact that thc old-guard is missing. e BOB e FOLLOWING THE terse statement of trie Varsity F concerning award letters, on« i to pout a lower lip y, "I won't take r make those San Francisco boys take theirs off." Thc Varsity F should be reminded, also, that if they want their Block F to stand for| so much, they should clamp down on members who lend their award sweaters to pals who have not earned a letter in a varsity dents spend their football .ificnio.ms in places other rhan the stadium. During ihe lasr fe^v game--, it has been necessary io "borrow" townspeople and service- men from other sections to fill up thc one- necessary section for the stunts. It takes approximately 2V) students to fill up the section needed for rhe stunts. There- are os-er 1200 srudents at Fresno State College, so thc lack of students can not be blamed on rhe war. We still have more than enough at FSC has a winning team; that's no reason FSC has a winning team, that's' no reason for staying away. It doesn't cost a cent to get in. From what we can learn about the brawl following the Fresno High-Roosevelt game, it was represented in by Fresno Staters, former alumni of the local schools.
