THE COLLEGIAN ■With today's issue comes the announcement that the Collegian's fifth annual Hack Race will be carried by the National Broadcastine system. It is not merely the broadcast which is pleading but that the airing will carry as far East as Chicago on the NBC's Blue network. It is expected that close to fifty stations will carry the half- hour broadcast to more than two million listeners in all parts . of the United States. To those in the Midwest who listen in, the race will come from 5:30 to 6 o'clock, one of the best hours on the air. ) AU in all. it will mean tjlat Fresno-State College will receive the biggest publicity boosiin the history of the college. The Hack Race executive comftittee is now negotiating with news- reel officials for the filmink of the traditional grind. While definite word has been reeetved to date, there is very little doubt but that at least one of the major newsreel companies will come to Fresno to film the race. To the students of this college the Collegian asks the utmost of cooperation in putting over the annual race. One of the first angles in which students may aid in the promotion of the comes in thc entries themselves. It is of vital importance that a large number of cars enter and that drivers signify their entries as soon as possible. Present plans call for all entries to be in at least one week before the race, but the Collegian urges, where it is possible, that cars be entered as long before this deadline as possible. In order to keep the necessary publicity moving the names of entries will have to be sent out and an accurate check made on all hacks.
