Fresno SUte College football coach who worked all season to turn out a championship team, was honored Thursday at the Thanksgiving Day game when student formed a card stunt especially for him. Above you see just how it looked. The Chameleon Turns nature study class years ago, we learned of the chameleon, the one living thing on earth that has the to change its own color to meet the surrounding colors. In this way, a defenseless creature protected itself against its more powerful adversaries. This week, we find one of our conference football teams claiming that same power, for it, too, has changed its color to protect itself. Thursday afternoon, the Bulldogs defeated the University of Nevada football team. Thursday evening, the Bulldogs challenged the San Jose Spartans to a post- game to settle the Far Western Conference championship. Saturday morning, the Spartans turned down that challenge, saying that final examinations were coming up, and besides their team was tired after a long, How times have changed! About this time last year, the then high and mighty Spartans were begging Nevada to play off a tie for the Conference cup. Fresno State College Bulldogs climaxed its season over its traditional rival, the Wolves of Nevada, before 10,000 fans in the annual homecoming classic last Thursday. The outcome of the game was never in doubt, the Harrismen scoring their first touchdown before the game was three minutes old, and continuing to push Nevada over the field at will for the remainder of the full sixty minutes.
