THE COLLEGIAN COLLEGIA* tPITOIHAL^EATUM PACf "When the student council meets tomorrow night the! question of Ratcliffe Stadium will be brought up for discussion and possible approval, and, to the Collegian, it looks as though the right step is being taken. Since] the start of the grid season the Collegian has been ferring to the athletic field as Ratcliffe Stadium, that in itself is not the reason for the council to approve | the name. Emory Ratcliffe, in the years he has been connected! with Fresno State, has perhaps done more than any one1 man to further the athletic interests of the college. Starting from the point where he was coach of the first football team to the present point where he is one of the greatest backers of not only the Bulldog grid machine but also every athletic team turned out by the college. The success of the West Coast Relays has also been largely through the work of Mr. Ratcliffe. In other words, Mr. Ratcliffe has always been one of the greatest athletic boosters of the college and naming the stadium honor would in no way be anything but an honor to the students of Fresno State. While some kick-backs are sure to come as they have already, the council, if it has the power, should go record as approving the name. At the same time it would not be a bad idea at all if another campus building so is named. The previous Collegian editor strongly supported a movement-Jo name the main building after Dr. Frank Waters Thomas and at the same time advocated the new name for the stadium. One-half of it has been carried out to some extent and the other might well be brought under consideration by members of the student council when they meet tomorrow night Instead of referring to a mere main building, it would be a step forward if the name Thomas Hall could be adopted. The science building has already been namedI after a president of the college, Dr. C. L. McLane, and we can't see why a few more steps shouldn't be taken to name other buildings after prominent persons of the college. •God mike -em vote ri«tit:" Forgotten Rutgers Man Kappa Delta Pi The Orders Ten Books *"U'Box Dear Mr. Stets irrthe News oPToinmtirr STETS in the NEWS The Prexy Speaks BEHIND The SCREEN anything iboui th« MB-. wv|, hi HERE'S HOW •YOUR • MONEY GOES • approval of Ihe boird 'Uevlnc at Rutgers Ihit I . r.^rnr7 | U1REN NICKEL.*. w Cold...Blow Hot.. rEf£i?Erii5, Campus L'HSirirritT^1^ ""r'Zi'lTi denied .he .1*1,1 if j PiCtOTUilS ^^^^l^^ii^i ,7^'', Home of Fresno's Biggest and Malteds, Shakes and Sodas 20 Kinds of Ice Cream and Sherbets to Choose From ALL KINDS OF SANDWICHES and Special College Lunches and Dinners In the College Block Two Blocks Sooth of College 1470 N.
