For them.j prosperity entered the round- nouse for several more turns when the state legislature cut the college budget and their salaries for the next two years. SEPTEMBER 11, 1933 The ineligibility and withdrawal from school of thirteen i.rospcctive mainstays for Coach Leo Harris' varsity football team leaves the Bulldogs once more seriously handicapped at ;hc season's-start. Faced with :he task of introducing a new and strange system to last year's veterans, Harris must have had fond hopes of molding •is team around those very players who flashed on his frosh team last year, and a glance at the list of ineligibles reveals that a majority of the names are those of last year's freshmen. Eventually, perhaps, some genius will devise a plan whereby athletes may universally give their whole attention to sports and other extra-curricular pleasures without having their j precious scholastic standing, jeopardised. In the meantime,, however, there is sad need for some method of inviegling many football, basketball and track performers into even a minimum of classroom work. Remarks of, "I time!" on the part of cynicaljci students who have watched con- j s itruction of the new library drag \v] out over a period of two yea this morning when they had|e! their first look at the interior of |n the structure.
