! EDITORIALLY SPEAKING
A Paradise Revealed
Trie Help the Hungarian Heroes drive at Fresno State
College, which raised more than |70O~ae of yesterday, may he
called a success thanks to the efforts? of the Freshman
Women Social Activities Group. Blue Key. Rally Committee,
the Speech Department and numerous individuals from other
campus groups who did a grand job promoting a worthy
cause.
Little did the editors realize that when we first printed
Chris Le*mhacher's challenging letter along witK an editorial
suggesting to the students, that through the highly respected
CARE relief organization, something could be done for a
courageous people fighting communist tyranny, so much
would be done.
We seriously doubt so much would hsve been done had
it not been for the girls of FWSAG led by Sally Edhoim.
Carole Ward, and a heretofore unsung co-chairman. Kathy
Farrow. all who literally pushed the others into the drive.
Wo hope these jrirls are not discouraged because more
people did not share their enthusiasm. But they can just
figure it this way: In America, it is the individual who works
and drives the hardest who gets ahead. The more laggards
there are. the easier it is for the real worker to forge to the
fn.nt. The laxnt^s of the majority always has been, snd
always will be a trial for the industrious. The real worker-
leader learns to win this trial and use it to his advantage.
Briefly, before we say goodbye to old 1936. we would like
to express our admiration for the work done by the various
campus groups decorating the new and old campus portals.
Our still raw and somewhat cold new campus looks more
human and Christmas-like today thanks to the decorating
committees.
Incidentally. We would like to offer one new year's resolution for the student body to consider. Resolved: we will
try to attend more FSC functions such as rallies and plays —
and. if possible, participate more actively in school affairs.
Ahem . . The Collegian is a virtual paradise for hard
workers. We guarantee work or your resolution back.
