Maybe that"s one of the reasons if s so refreshing to the mind when someone with a lot of enthusiasm and some real school spirit comes < along and does something that has a wealth of constructive value, without I tearing down any aspects of the school—just building' them all up. The first annual Blue Key-sponsored Student Leaders' Day, which brought 150 outstanding high school and junior college students to the campus as guests of the college a week ago Saturday, is a case in point This program, whichcan pay big dividends for FSC in a long-range way, would not have been brought to the campus this year without the efforts of Tom Ashley, senior poly sci major. school student He thought the idea could be put to work at PSC, convinced his Blue Key fraternity1 brothers of its merits^ and the project was begun. A married man with an off-campus job, Ashley found time to organize the program and coordinate the event himself. Student Leaders' Day/is something that will giw with the years. Ashley'rfwork here this year no (Tout will result in stronger R>6 student bodies long after he has gone. A more immediate effect of the event is a slight, intangible heightening and unifying of the enthusiasm and spirit of the students here now, a byproduct of the campus-wide cooperation necessitated by the project Student Leaders Day can and, we think, will become a great thing for FSC. The credit for its start belongs primarily to Tom Ashley, although it took the cooperation of many other students to make it work. The student body owes a real vote of thanks to him.
