According to Dr. Janet fireman, coordinator of tbe Latin American Studies program, tbe new major ta a "simple, unre- strtotive* program with only one required core couree, Latin American Bibliography and Methodology. Fireman aald students must complete 30 units of courses In the major and muat show a proficiency ln Spanish or Portuguese, either by taking two yeara of the language or by Credential filing deadline nears Students seeking public school service credentials upon recommendation of CSUF" should take note of the following Information relative to credential "applications. Applications for credentials to be dated for June 7 should be filed with a credential analyst from the School of Education In Ed-Psych Room 120 during the period Feb. 4 to Feb. IS. Applications win be received during the period Feb. 18 to March 29, but a late filing fee of $2 will be assessed.
