The Bulldogs, 12-3 over-all Cal State Hayward. The CSUF Bulldogs didn't want to be bad hosts, so they did something about It. . Unfortunately for Bulldog fans', It was losin-a three-game series against Pacific Coast Athletic Association rival University of pacific last weekend at Belden Field. ^ CSUF drops to 3-3 In confer- l-Moi -all. The Tigers Jumped on Fresno ace Dave Rohm for nine lilts and five runs to win the series opener Friday night 5-3. UOP Swept Saturday's doubleheader with 8-5 and 4-3 victories. Rohm (6-3) continued to be plagued by opposing home runs. After allowing three against San Jose a week earlier, the juntor right-hander threw two more Friday. Fresno had many chances. Tiger winner Syd Church, now 5-3, gave up eight hits and six walks; The Bulldogs left 11 on base, Including three when they let Church escape a bases-loaded, one-out jam In the fifth. . David Zlzzo, Jeff Johnson and • .eorge Finley gave the Bulldogs first-through-third finishes In the long and triple Jumps. Zlzzo won the triple with a leap of 47-11 1/2, followed by Johnson's Badminton team 3rd in tourney 45-9 1.'2 and Flnley's 45-1. In the long jump. Johnson captured first with a 21-9 1/2, with Zlzzo second at 21-9 and Finley third at 20-7 1/2. In the 440 Intermediate hurdles, the Bulldogs' Chuck Lowe took first with a clocking of 54.7, followed by teammates David Gaeta (56.1) and Mike Swanson (56.3). In the 100-meter high hurdles, Gaeta rolled to a first-place time of 15.1, with Lowe second at 15,3 and Mike Lyons third at 15.4. It was a productive day for the Bulldogs, who recorded 10 personal bests. Leading the way was Cedrtc Hardamon, who had a personal-best second tn the 200 meters (22.5). Hardamon also ran a leg on the Bulldogs'winning 440 relay team, which clocked a 42.7. Besides anchoring the winning 440 and mile ..relays teams to come-from-behlnd victories, the Bulldogs' Steve Campbell also won the 400 meters ln47.1. Other CSUF firsts came from Chris Hunt, who recorded a personal-best 206-2 In the Javelin, andVDave Lewis, who won the pole ! vault with an effort of 15-6.
