Information on that and other legalities ranging from marital problems to landlord-tenant hassles Is offered free from the CSUF legal advisement office, according to Jim Swanson, legal advisement coordinator. LIAISON student affairs program cannot give any legal it arts as a liaison between students and the legal community and can refer students to legal agencies handling their specific problems. \ 'Students are pretty well uninformed about what steps to take ln the legislative community,* Swanson said of the purpose of the advisement office. Swanson, a law student who also teaches some criminology '*—'— " ' '" approximately 20 to 25 students seek his advice Half of the legal questions he is asked about involve landlord-tenant and marriage disputes. The remaining 50 per cent ranges from students wanting blasting permits to minor traffic violations. SMALL CLAIMS COURT The program, begun in 1973-74, also provides students with forms listing information about small claims court action and letters sent to landlords when students encounter difficulties in refunding their security deposits. Swanson is available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays byrappolntment. Students can contact , his office ln the Joyal Administration Building by calling «7-2Ml.
