BY RICHARD EBERLE Different colored pins each rcpre senting a maior or minor tragedy stick out from maps of the university in an office tucked away in the campus security building Most of them are shades of blue representing bikes that peddled away without their owners or stereos and tape recorders now playing for someone else No yellow pins are present on the maps except for the one on the legend rellow pins represent indecent expo- Most of the emergency phones will be developed on designated "safe routes" that have already been established According to O'Rielty, the "safe routes" (as shown on the map) are well- lighted areas that receive an emphasis of the patrols at night. He said that the patrols cover all area of the campus but campus-wide escort system that he hopes will begin operation sometime this semester. Details of that, he said, will be released later Other things being done to reduce crime on campus include a crime awaremess program and Operation ID.
