Tbe DaUy CoUeglan All thumbs showdown- New breed of wrasslin' in town Wednesday May 10,1978, CSUF is holding an official Two Fingers CoUegiate Thurn Wrasslin Tournament sponsored by Two fingers Tequila and sanctioned by the American Thum Wrasslin Association (ATWA). Tbe tournament, to be held In the CoUege Union Lounge from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. wlU be re- fereed by Bob Schmidt, President of ATWA. As with aU sanctioned tournaments, competition wffl be held in a regulation Thum --Sbortlength (under 1 1/2 in- -Mlddlelength (1 1/2 to 3 --Louglength (ov ■ 3 Inches). Regulation penalties, including those for gouging an opponent or sucking any thumb during a match, wiU also be in effect. Admittance to the tournament is free. An students and faculty are Invited and are e to bring along at least in top fighting condition. The tournament .wiU open with a welcoming statement by an official from the American Thum Wrasslin Association. Then, a referee wffl announce rules of play and demonstrate legal and Illegal holds, such as tbe f'Fly- lng Thum Tackle," the "Fake Paw Push," the "Thum Screw" and others. There wffl be a series of pre- flght thumb-building exercises, to loosen up and condition participants' thumbs. There wffl-be a measure-In to determine length classification foUowed by eUmination matches according to class. Actual competitions wiU be held In separate male and female single matches, mixed single matches, and mixed tag team matches; Two finalists in each event wiU fight it out for the championship. Winners will revleve the GOV-O.
