CALIFORMA. FRIDAY, JANUARY 6, 1950 Athletic policy to be sent to Dr. Joyal ions programs. We have aired our opinions before, and we have heard I yours. We have met with you to discuss the problem. The| facts of thc situation have been weighed by the students. Now, with our discussions, out opinions, and our farts placed before you, the final decision rests on your shoulders. The fol- wing are our recommendations: 1. We want Fresno State College to return to the positi :ld during its pre-war heyday, in ALL departments and pi. 2. We want thc immediate appointment of a head football | 3. The man chosen for thc position must fulfill thc following] qualifications: A. Command B. Must have proven collegiate coaching ability. C. Must be able to inspire confidence and support of Fresno State College supporters, as well as thc college faculty. 4. If a suitable person signifies his interest in the position, he must be acquired, removing any possible blocks to his ap¬ pointment if at all possible. 5. The over-all athletic policy must be made stronger, musl be publicised, and must lie strictly adhered to. which :>' arc being brought here, and these conditions upheld. * ■ 7. Suitable inducement should be made lo gain ou athletes and outstanding students. 8. Public relations with the Fresno area, the San Joaquin Valley and the western states must immediately, be brough* out of thc doldrums. When we firs submitted our opinions and solutions on thc situation, we wcr :onfidcnt that thev would he given thorough considcratioi "We submit this report, which in essence is simply a rc-statcmcr ons and wishes will play an important part in your fin; ccision. But regardless of the final outcome, we, as student! ill abide by and support thc decisions you make. Elections for 4 student positions scheduled; petition files next week Petitions for student body positions to be vacated in the spring will be available next week, with elections scheduled for the following week.
