The blame can be laid at several feet: the band director didn't want to send out only part of a band; several of the cheerleaders were substituting until selection of new ones; the student police failed to solve the drinking problem; and the majority of the fans probably just didn't feel like yelling. The excuses that students were still emotionally exhausted from registration, that school hadn't even started yet, so how could there be school spirit; and that fans dressed in suits, heels, or good dresses don't feel like letting go may all be true. At the FSC-Hawall game there will be a band, singing of the na¬ tional anthem, cheerleaders, rally girls,andcardtrlcks.The public Is watching from across the field, the rest is up to you. The problem this year is Just—too many people. As ASB President Herm Howerton said last night ln Student Exec, the bookstore will get Its badly needed space when the Student President's Office can be moved into the proposed student union.
