EDITORIAL COMMENTS Chairman On The Rocks? Any organization must ha\ to function properly. Without this vital quality the group falters and the work it is designed to do is disorgani Leadership, or rather the lack of leadership, is tt factor impeding the efforts of what could be the most five Rally Committee ever at the college. The record of leadership provided by Rally chairman E.I Manning loaves much to be desired thus far. Here is a week by week breakdown of Rally Committee activities for the college's first four football games: Sept. 23 — Montana State. Nothing accomplished the committee had not yet been formed. Sept. 30 — Santa Barbara. All planni game was done by a H-memF from Homan Hall. 'A white si the Rally Committee chairman did not see fit to participati The only rally of the season was planned one day before i was to be held and was a fail planning. Oct 7 — University of Pacific. Nothing definite beside operation of a snack bar on the rooters trni Committee chairman did help sell sandwiches on left the job of transporting rooting sound system Hall Rally Committee members and cheer ■ Oct 14 — Cal Poly. Absolutely nothing planned. At 2:30 Saturday afternoon the chairman asked two members of the Rally Committee, the Collegian sports editor and two students to transport the sound system to San Lui»'( for the game that night. No provision was made for porting the victory bell back to Fresno after the gam Rally Committee chairman did not attend the game! This bleak picture promises to be the same for Saturday night's homecoming game and the rest o" Rally Committee has not met since Sept 28. Students who arrived early at the Cal Poly crackerbox stadium saw their seating area pushed back from mid-field to the 35-yard line and finally to a crowded 192-seat area confined between the 23- and eight-yard lines. It was definitely a case of money talking wl dents yelled. The two sections the students were forced i sold — mid-fields seats to residents of San Luis Obispo and " r section to Fresno residents (alum"ni, Bulldog Foundation memberssind others from the city.)
