"I'll be out there all day from 7:30 Saturday until 1:30 Sunday morning," For the hard working Bry¬ ant his biggest worry will take place today. "If it should rain today my job will begin Saturday around 6 AM to dry the turf out if possible," moaned-Bryant. Floyd won't forget the 1958 WCR when it did rain the night before the meet. "Flint Manner, an FSC student and I worked from 6 AM until the opening heat dragging burn¬ ers by tractors around the oval trying to get rid of the rain water," Bryant recalls. But true to form the hard working Bryant had every- thing ready to go. Bryant says that the track itself is easy to take care of once started on. "It's a day track and my crew and I just keep it trimmed and packed to maintain its rating as the fastest track in the United States," Bryant proudly world records will fall tomor¬ row. "That Johnson fellow from San Jose State might just set one in the 100 if there isn't any wind," said Bryant. Bryant's the man to know be¬ cause Ratcliffc Stadium will be his home tomorrow for the :>,r»th annual WCR. Bryant just may have to get up early. As of Thursday, the weather forecast was for rain and wind.
