EDITORIAL COMMENTS Local Fees Solve San Jose Ills We take mention of rth item in the San Jose State Spartan Daily which reports construction will begin soon for a "mon¬ ster-sized" parking garage to.be located on the San Jose campus. The five-story structure, the paper reports, will cost $2,000,000 and will house 1.5(H) to 2.000 cars. We are happy to learn that San Jose students will get much-needed parking facilities (their lots have been used for new buildings), but there is one thing that bothers us. Fresno State and the rest of the state colleges arc helping Some $-10,000 collected from parking fees on the FSC cam-i pus last semester will indirectly help make up for the money spent at San Jose. In addition to this, there will undoubtedly be other multi-level parking facilities built in the state col¬ lege system and all other state colleges will help with the We don't mean to be isolationist, but we do feel that indi¬ vidual fees — such as those being paid for parking — should be used to benefit the college from which they come, not other campuses with distinctly different problems and trans¬ portation facilities.
