" It is true the Sandinistas cannot be trusted. When the Carter administration backed the Sandinistas to overthrow Ssmoza, they promised democratic reforms, and to this day have yet to keep their promise. Mr. Nicholas described the Sandinistas as being the people's government. How can, they be die peoples government wnen there are not any free elections in Nicaragua? Yes, Nicaragua is a threat to the United States. Nicaragua has more armies fa the country than in all other Central American , countries from Mexico to Columbia. Is it to their advantage because they are losing ground? If they were winning, they would not have to settle for a peace plan because they would already be gaining what they wanted in the first place.. Now they are losing and they want to negotiate. It is common for all communist institutions to use this negotiation tactic when they are losing. Now Ortega has this peace treaty that does not allow the United States to appropriate funds for die democratic resistance (Contras). What is wrong with appropriating funds for the democratic resistance end holding the money for them? This way, in the event that Onega does not keep the democratic reforms be has promised to keep, the democratic resistance can have a fighting chance to fight for their freedom. It's strange that the Soviet Union and Cuba continue to aid the heavily armored Dear Editor. Recently I read in the Collegian that a new column will soon appear in the Tuesday edition. This literary gem will be titled The Devil and Bill Pierce." All I can say is, "Bill, why?" What has happened to make you take this step backward? Don't you realize what kind of slop you're going to produce? Bill you're not even a "Journalism major!" Speaking of journalism, can you believe they actually teach a course titled "Journalism Ethics?" Two words that definitely don't go together. Maybe it should be called "Journalism — Ethics?" or "Journalism — Twisted Ethics" or possibly "Journalism Ethics — Objectivity With a Liberal Slant" Come on. Bill — snap out of it I It's not too late. Forget this crazy idea. Return to your major, all is forgiven. Don't become one of THEM. Tickets are $2.50 general and $150 for CSUF students. The music of Club Noveau wi rock the CSUF arnpitheatre starting 8 p.m. Friday.
