Thts ls the philosophy of La Raza Studies Department at CSUF, according to Dr. Adolpho Ortega, coordina¬ tor of La Raza Studies. Ortega made the remark In a welcoming address to a standing- room-only crowd in the Sequoia Junior "High School auditorium last Saturday night celebrating the annual Noche de La Raza. The night Included a freedtnner and various cultural programs. •Each year we have an In¬ creasing number of Chicano stu¬ dent* who enroll In La Raza Stu¬ dies," aald Ortega. This Indi¬ cates to me that our young people with to retain their roots In our -. Mexican culture.* | the program wa* a joint effort of all the Chlcanoorganlzatlons at riSUF, Including faculty, admin¬ istration, etafl and *tnd*ntg.^ Performing In the program were Los Daniantes de Aztlan under the direction of Ernesto Martinez, iod the CSUF Teatro, directed by Frank Rlojas.
