With only 30 seconds remaining, the Diab¬ lo*' Ricky Mallory went to the line and made the first of a one- and-one situation, but a lane vio¬ lation by an LA player gave the 'Dogs second life with 30 seconds left. Roy Jones hit his 24th point of the night with only five seconds left to tie the gam* at 69 apiece. The Diablos quickly called time out and then took the ball In to Slaughter who dribbled about 60 feet down court and threw up the desperation shot at the buzzer to defeat the Bulldogs. Roy Jones led all scorers with 24 points and teammate Jamea Robinson netted 18 point* for the 'Dogs. Tommle Llpaey put In 20 points, many on short turn¬ around jumpers after Hennlng had fouled out. Also In double figures for the Diablos were Randy Echols with 14 and Willie Jack¬ son with ten.
