Baxter watches Executive Committee calls for answer on Baxter With President Baxter watching the procedings, the Executive Committee called yesterday afternoon for an immed- 'I fail to see that this resolution is m cessary,' said Lola Owensby, executiv secretary ot the Academic Senate don't see what would be accomplished eady t poned Baxter d The committee requested that the CSUC Board of Trustees meet in an 'ex¬ traordinary session" to resolve the issue before its May 22 meeting The call for an immediate answer came in response to the Trustees' an¬ nouncement last Tuesday to postpone any decision on Baxter's future until they could review the material submit- ■appointed Baxter t it did not have the material The i by t The call for an immediate answer met no opposition from any of the Executive Committee members and was approved The committee also passed two other resolutions, one inviting the Trustees to visit CSUF, the other calling attention to The commvtee requested that the Trustees visit the campus before making i their final decision on the future of Bax- V However, |ust before the vote on the question of the Trustees' visit was called Legislative Vice President candidate Rent freeze for students is Sepulveda's top priority By BARBARA DETERS Daily Collegian Staff Reporter Luis Sepulveda, 20, is a social welfare major He has been a member of the IRA (Instructionally Related Activities), a senator for the School of Social Wel¬ fare, a member of the finance and bud¬ get committee and the personnel com¬ mittee Of junior standing, he is current tor pro-tern which makes him ig member of all student corr Sepulveda is a candidate fc on of legislative vice president What do you think of reorganizationf I haven't been able to study the plans much One reason why is that right now we're in the process of making up the budget so that's taking up some time. When things settle down a little bit more, then I'll be able to get into it and make a decision ** Have you had the chance to read any of the proposals? I've looked at Volpp's and I see no problems with it right now, but then, I don't know too much about it When I do start looking at the proposals, then I'll be able to decide. How do you stand on the beer issue? I'm in favor of having beer on this campus I think that people can handle themselves maturely You don't think that having beer on campus will contribute to students going to class drunk? No. There's beer on other campuses and I don't see them having serious problems (like that) What do you think of the decision on Baxter that was handed down from the CSUC Board of Trustees just recently? dents should get involved. That should be a priority because that's affecting a lot of students on campus. What about the tuition issue? Right now, the tuition is kind of a set¬ tled down issue It's not as much of a priority as it was in the beginning of the semester. *The Board of Trustees has What about the parking increases?
