The Fresno State women's basketball
team, now 4-1 after losing to Cal Poly-
Pomona 84-73 and beating UC-lrvine 52-

7:30 p.m. in the South Gym.

Martell has provided Coach Bob Spencer

junior from North Bakersfield High is
averaging 19 points, five sleals. six assists
and 3 8 rebounds per game.
Forward Shannon McGee has also
contributed steadily with 15.2 points, five
sleals and 6.6 rebounds per game.
Tami Towlc (9.8 ppg. 5.6 rpg). Yvette
Roberts (9.6 ppg. 7.2 rpg) and Sandy
Slade  (8.4  ppg,  5.2  spg)  make  for a

In preparation for the annual Fresno
State Baseball Alumni Weekend Jan. 31-
Feb. 2,1986, all FSU baseball alumni are
asked to update current addresses and
telephone lumbers with the baseball
office as soon as possible.
Alumni can call 294-2178 orwrite the
Fresno Slate Baseball Office on campus.
The varsity-alumni game is scheduled
for Saturday, Feb. I at Beiden Field.

Elgorriaga west's best
Jose Elgorriaga. head.coach of the
Fresno State soccer team, has been named
the National Soccer Coaches Association
of America NCAA Division I'Far West-
Coach of the Year.
Elgorriaga led Fresno State to their
most successful season ever as the 'Dogs
posted a school-record 17 wins "and won
the Pacific Soccer Conference champion¬
ship in a 17-4-1 year.
Fresno State volleyball standout Barbie
Snyder was named team Most Valuable
Player last night at the annual awards
banquet held at The Spaghetti Factory.
Snyder also received The Tacq> Bell
MVP. /
Snyder ranks No. 2 on the school's all-
time kills list and is the only member of
Leinani Overstreet's 9-24-squad to be
named to the All-Northern Pacific
Conference team. The second-team sekc- .
tion has joined Bob Spencer's women's'
basketball squad.
Also receiving 'awards were Tracy
Sliester, Most Improved Player, Kathy
Sullivan, Most Inspirational Player;'
KeVlie Dyer, Coaches' Award and Amy
PqwcI),.Academic Award.;   .

Tickets are now on sale for 1986
baseball season home games. This year's
schedule includes 37 homes games plus
the annual Me-N-Edty Pepsi Best in the
West Classic Feb. II.

With tbe win came a national ranking, the

The final chapter of this storybook season
will be written when the Bulldogs face the
unbeaten Falcons Saturday in a rematch
of the '82 Cal Bowl. From one writer's
perspective, the Bulldogs can't lose either
