Scholarships Ihe Chicano Alumni Association ol Oli'-Ti_ State University -Fresno congratulates the winners of its first scholarship awards. Each of the lour winners recieved a S5O.O0 check lo help supplement book and other school expenses The winners were Margarit- Martinez, Maria Oralia Torres, Diana Salas and Carmen Segoria. The Chicano Alumni Association will offer four more SSO 00 scholarships for the Spring 1979 semester Applica lions will be available immediately tallowing Thanksgiving vacation on Monday November 27, 1978. The deadline lor applying is Friday. December 15, 1978. the last week of Fall semester instruction Students may jpplicj at Tutorial Services. SR2-33, La Ra.a Studies. NCS Is the tlrst large national survey ever done in this country with Chicano respondents and they are very excited about the project's potential for gathering an unprecedented and rich body of Information The requirements for NCS Interviewers are: fluent blllnguallsm and familiarity with Mexican culture In the U S and Mexico, and with American (US.) culture; availability for lull-time employment from January through May 1979; and. In some cases, availability lor some travel during the period of employment. Prior interviewing experience would be helpful, and persons with strong interviewing backgrounds will be considered for supervisor Jobs.
