Hits AND PUCES II there was one specific positive
aspect Th.it evolved from the New York newspaper
strike it was the insatiable appetite displayed by city
residents lor any and all newspaper news and sports
coverage As soon as the strike dailies (City News,
Daily Metro Daily Press) hit the streets they were
quickly gobbled up by New Yorkers Mind you, the
suburban dailies and out ol town publications as well
as the New York weeklies were still doing a brisk
business It has been said that New Yorkers would be
uninterested in seeing another new daily paper hit the
newsstands every morning or afternoon but given the
enthusiasm generated by New York readers, one must
assume that somewhere along the line a maverick
newspaper publisher will explore this
possibility Mary Albert the dean ot New York radio
and TV sportscasting and a nationally recognized
basketball and football announcer will have a starring
role in a movie now in production called The Fish that
Saved Pittsburgh, which will co-star Philadelphia 76er
superstar Julius Ervlng. The story revolves around the
