"Even if someone who isn't a student takes the poll, the margin of error that would result would be too insignificant to worry about,* she said. Barry, responding to Wanken s complaints, said, 'You're destroying our means before the ends; you're defeating our cause Laurie Savage, senator from the School of Professional Studies, felt that a poll without Identification would be picked apart when the results came in 'I would not support the poll (as it stands),* she said Supporting the theory that the poll would be picked apart, Wanken said, 'If anyone from marketing or research came to see this poll they would laugh A motion by Luis Sepulveda, senator from the School of Social Work, and Wanken to require Identification by students taking the poll was defeated 8-5. Immediately, Robin Saghateiian, senator at Large (Post 4), and Janet Sale, senator from the School of Social Sciences, moved to accept the poll as it was presented. The motion passed on Wanken, although volunteering to help distribute the polls, maintained her feelings of the poll's lack of credibility *l hope we will not send this poll to any organization, but just use ft for Natural Birth Control - a way of avoiding pregnancy BY MARGUERITE LUMLEY phenomenon as a means of birth control? According to Diana Washburne. promoter of Natural Birth Control, psychic phenomenon is 'a wonderful method* which is 97 7 percent effect Natural Birth Control is based on the .iremise that a woman has two ovulations per menstrual cycle, one during her personal cycle and one during her moon cycle Ovulation during the moon cycle taikes place when the moon is at the same angle to the sun as it was when the woman was bom, according to this theory Each 28 days a similar relationship between the moon and the 'I can talced woman s birthdate and the time and place she was born, adjust it to Pacific Standard Time, and calculate her fertile days,* Washburne claims ' I can even calculate the time of day when she will be most fertile " First studied in Czechoslavokia and Hungary, Natural Birth Control was introduced to the United States through a book entitled 'Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain' published by Bantam in 1971 Natural Birth Control is recognized by most health food stores and is widely practiced in San Francisco, according to Washburne. However, Norma Thomas R.N., CSUF Health Center, was skeptical when asked about the method 'I ma medical person, I don't know about the moon and the stars,' Thomas said. 'I wouldn't recommend it It's not medicalty proven." Medical science holds that a woman only ovulates once a month. Thomas was quick to dismiss the idea of a moon cycle. Washburne contends that the moon cycle explains why the rhythm method she is menstruating,'Diana said, (avoiding Intercourse on prescribed Civena woman's birthdate, fix days in the middle of the menstrual and place she was bom. and S7.50, cycle) has never worked.
