There were no cleats on his feet "I'm gonna hate it. all right," Ellard said of the prospect of watching the California Bowl from the sidelines. "When I get on the sidelines during the game. I'm gonna hate it." Because of surgery to repair a dislo¬ cated right shoulder,, Ellard will miss the California Bowl. While Paige and Ted¬ ford will play their final games as Bulldogs in front-of a seHoul Cal Bowl crowd at Bulldog Stadium. Ellard will just have the last second victory over Nevada-Las Vegas to close the regular season as his "I can't go out there and do my part," Ellafd said. "I want to help out." They are the blue collar men iif football who do the duty work so others can get the headlines. They remain in the high performance Bulldog machine. John Blacksill, ^Ed Carter. Mike r-orrest, Jerry Lockwood, Tom Neville and Kevin Molle have been the main bulldozers up front while the rest of the Bulldog offensive unit has had the pleasure to work behind tbem. Center Blacksill, tackle Carter and tackle- guard Forrest were all recently rewarded for their play by being named to the all- PCAA first squad. Molle was named to the second team from his tackle position. "I'm very pleased with the play of the offensive line this year, especially con¬ sidering how much we threw the ball this season," offensive line coach Bill Dole said. Forrest started at tackle last season. "Forrest has done a great job especially considering that he has had to make the transition from the tackle spot to guard," Dole said. Ellard said Fresno State appears to be the better team in the California Bowl. He noted the Bowling Green secondary is not very quick. Fresno should be able to exploit that.
