He also said that it would have been very unlikely, if not physically impos¬ sible, for Hambrock to have walked or crawled any long distance after being stabbed. This last fact has made ft difficult for police to determine if Hambrock were stabbed outside the pizza parlor or if she were attacked elsewhere and dropped off, unconscious, at the entrance. Martin said that the employee who found her thought he detected a faint pulse, but he could have been mistaken. Hambrock, upset over a poor per¬ formance on a test, had gone for a walk about two hours before her body was found. Her sister and roommate in the dorm, Karla, called campus police about 11:45 p.m. and reported her sister missing. When Fresno police told Karla they had found a body, they said she did not have to identify It, as they had been supplied with a photo of KrisU. Karla, according to students on her floor, said she wanted to Identify the body her¬ self. Students in Baker Hall were subdued the morning following the crime. It was a cheerful room wfth bright yellow plastic chairs. The sounds of a pool game in progress could be heard coming from the next room. Only the slight puffiness around her eyes betrayed her feelings as she calmly spoke of her sister KrisU, who had been murdered *he night before. Occasion¬ ally, she twisted the class ring on her finger or fiddled with a keychain on her lap, but for the most part she sat with her head slightly bowed like someone in church. KrisU was 'outgoing,' Karla said. She said KrisU participated in several sports, was president of her dorm, could be counted on to help a friend having problems with school work and made friends easily. Karla used the word 'enjoy* fTeefjently in discussing her sister's attitude to life. KrisU 'enjoyed sports.* She "en¬ joyed being around people." Karla said there was no way to cate¬ gorize her sister. 'She was Just all- around enjoyable." Karla's hair was pulled back into a ponyuil. There were no secrets, between us. We shared everything.* Karla said that she and her sister had similar tastes in many things.
