Schaefer to conduct ensembles The CSUF Music Department will present a fall concert Monday, Dec. 14, featuring the Percussion Ensemble, the Marimba Ensemble and the Fresno Marimba Orchestra. The program will be held in the CSUF Music Building Recital Hall beginning at 8 p.m. The groups are under the direction of C.W. •Sandy' Schaefer. The Percussion Ensemble will perform a variety of works ranging from the percussion classic, "Ostinato Pianis¬ simo" by Henry Cowell to the more modern piece, "Concerto For Drumset and percussion Ensemble' by John Beck, featuring Hoover graduate Rick Canfield as the drumset soloist. Former student activist turns active instructor When Lea Ybarra-Soriano isn't teach¬ ing, writing novels, researching, speak¬ ing at schools and conferences, making films and slide presentations, or writ¬ ing articles for magazines, she relaxes. But that isn't very often. 'It's too much and I know it,' says the spunky Ybarra-Soriano, "but I'll slow down eventually." She laughs. Juggling so many projects at once is just a way of life for trie former Ber¬ keley student activist of the 1960s.
