The Bullpups will meet teams that they have prevlo beaten this season, the West Coast Bible College tonight and Coallnga Junior College, lomor. Both games precede the varsity contest at 6 PM. WCBC was dumped easily by the Bullpups, 04-43, and Coallnga was beaten, 65-S5. However, tht Bullpups will be out to Improvi upon past performances which have not been too Impressive. The Bulldogs have only had one meet this year while Long Beach will have had six when they lock horns tonight. The 'Dogs finished second In the Northern California Invitational Tournament In San Joge before Christmas vacation. Long Beach, along with Cal Poly of San Luis Obispo and San Diego State, are tho favorites to capture the league title, but coach Mai Kimberly isn't ready to give up the ship yet. "We have a few outstanding wrestlers, especially In the lower weight brackets, and we could be tough If the heavyweights e through," he remarked. Heading the list of Bulldog grapplcrs Is Eddie, Davies. a 130- pound Junior. Davies has won 5! consecutive collegiate matches over a two and a half.year period Included in this amazing string are nine tournament titles and the state championship In the Junior college division. The Recreation Club, the Un¬ touchables and the Independents ot the National League are also tied for first place as all six un¬ defeated teams will be putting the pressure on the other teams as the intramural tournament ends In two weeks. \_ On Monday, 110111112 at 7 PM, two unbeaten teams will clash, the Untouchables and the Inde¬ pendents, on the North court. Sessions of the convention and its affiliated bodies will begin Monday and continue through Saturday. Beiden will leave Fres¬ no for Chicago by plane Sunday with Beatty and Coleman depart¬ ing Monday and Hanner heading east on Wednesday. Beatty Is chairman of the NCAA's college division commit¬ tee. Coleman, representing District VIII, was one of eight finalists selected on a vote or 834 fellow coaches who reviewed season per¬ formance on the field and through game movies before casting their ballots.
