February 4,19g*--the Dairy CoUegian-fage S CSUF students react to Carter remstdtingdra^ ^ by Karen Kopeca. President Carter's recent proposal to reinstate the draft and to have .18 to 16 year olds register drew mixed reactions from CSUF students. Asked what they thought of the proposal, whether or not they would serve their country if they were* drafted, and if they felt women should be drafted, student responses included: Alfred Milone, senior, businew: 'To - reinstate the draft is good. I think there should be some kind of national draft. There should be some kind of plan In case there is some type of altercation, whether it be right or wrong. If I feel it's in the Interest of our country, I would go (to war). I think they (women) should be asked'to-go into service, but in non-combat jobs ' • ' Geri Hausman, graduate student, un¬ declared: 'I don't like it. I have mixed emotions... I don't want to go to war. I don't like war, period. I don't like the draft, whether it's for men or women. Probably, from the heart, no, I wouldn't go (to war). I just hope it won't get to that point, but one never knows right now." BUI OUVO, -c.~.. m~.~*. ~r_-- stratJon: 'I Just disagree (with Carter). I've been working too hard putting myself through school for the past four years to put myself in somebody else's hands. They want me to go out and fight a desert war and I 'm not going to do it. The only stop I' d make on the way out of town would be to drop out of school ... and it won't be Canada." NEW LOCATION CASEY'S HEALTH CLUB 3233 N.
