Paged (ALL Continued from page 7 light vigil to honor those who died and those who still remain missing in action. "The candle is a light in the darkness," said Lt. Al Barr, chaplain of the California Aviation Classification Re¬ pair Activity Depot. "It is a flickering light—but a light nonetheless.' "When I light this candle," said Barr, "I am not alone. „Mine is a common exper¬ ience of many. I share this remembrance with a num¬ ber of human beings." These men and women marched to ^rar paying the highest price?* said Young- blood quoting McArthur. "I do not know the glory of their birth, but I do know the glory of their death. The soldier, above all men. is called to make the greatest sacrifice." At the height of the ceremony, when taps were being sounded, the crowd moved closer together to share the experience. As each person lit a candle, he whispered or said aloud the name of the person he was remembering. "Tom Manzono, friend... Dave Petroski, best friend," and it went on and on until the names of husbands, brothers, fathers and friends were sent soaring into the night sky. "We came to see and to pay honor and respect," said Mildred Hicks, who lost her husband in the war. "It is sad, a lot of people's lives are here. "The war was a long time ago, but it doesn't matter," said Hicks softly. "As long as there is breath in the body, it's never too late." I Hdoy.
