"The Duarte government had been giving aid to government supporters; the poor haven't been receiving any," McLane said. The supplies, which ranged from I.V. equipment, I.V. solution, sutures, suction kits, orthopedic supplies, tubings, dress¬ ings and tapes were donated by Dr. Maciej Kopacz of Valley Childrens* Hospital. According to McLane, an arrangement five years ago was set up that provided discontinued items, items not used by the Kopacz. and Carol Taylor, coordinator of central supply processing at Valley Childrens* Hospital, had been collecting supplies to send to the needy in Poland. However, there were problems in shipping the supplies to Poland. Kopacz donated the supplies to the El Salvador cause when he heard, at Wesley United Methodist Church, that donations were being collected. ^* Although some ofthe items are expired, they can still be used. McLane said. But they will not be used for their original or intended purposes. "An I.V. solution that expired-five years ago shouldn't be used in someone's arm," McLane said. "But it can be used to disinfect." e # FEATURING 9 ' * • DAILY SPECIALS MONDAY FREE Medium Drink with Sandwich purchase. TUESDAY FREE Yogurt with Sandwich purchase.
