• March 1997 Hye Sharzhoom 7 - Armenian Studies Donations and Books The Armenian Studies Program, its Sahaldjian I .ibrary and Avedian Archives, would like to thank the following individuals for their generous donations /** Professor Alice K. Barter has donated copies of her book Saroyan's Armenians. An Anthology (1992) to the Armenian Studies Program for students and supporters. Carl Mahaklan of Palm Springs has once again offered archival clippings, brochures and books. Samvel Avetlsslan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Armenia donated a portrait of William Saroyan etched on black obsidian stone. The'Agavnl Kazarian Family of Fresno have donated a large collection of early photoguphs and Armenian language books, some from the collection of Vahan Damn. Martin TouriglaA of Drexel Hill. Pennsylvania, has once again generously donated his paintings and musical scores. Julia Stephian Bally of San Francisco has donated a collection of some 25 books, mostly in Armenian by authors such as Vahe Haig. Vahram Dadrian and Terenig Demirjian. PegRV and Sebouh Gunner (Tufenkjlan) of Fresno have donated a collection of books, periodical and old photographs from the family of their father Avedis Tufenkjian. Included among die materials are bound volumes of the Haiienik Daily from 1900-1904 and the daily Asbarez from 1917-1921. Family photographs from the early 1920s show the Tunfenkjian-Gunncr clan with distinguished visitors. <■ Violet Mayiao formerly of Chicago and now of Fscondido.
