"Most of the international stu¬ dents I contact are willing to [give a presentation] because a lot of them feel they want to share about their country." Teoh said. "They get frustrated when people don't know where their country is. This lets the public and students know geo¬ graphic locations." Teoh said there are roughly 14 speakers per semester and the stu¬ dents choose the date on which they want to give their presention about their country. Teoh began coordinating the program last semester, which is part of the International Student Ser¬ vices & Programs. "Non-international students can get to know more on a global per¬ spective," she said. "They can ex¬ pand their knowledge of all differ¬ ent cultures." The International Coffee Hour has been meeting for about four years and was created with the ob¬ jectives of expanding the knowl¬ edge of different countries, creat¬ ing a time to meet and share ideas with people from different back¬ grounds and sharing the knowledge of international students as educa¬ tional resources.
