Health Recipe Breast Cancer: What do we know about breast cancer? What can we do to prevent it or be aware of it? Breast cancer can cause death if it is not taken care of, and it can be found in men too. There are signs and symptoms of breast cancer: a lump in the breast, change in breast shape, discharge from the nipple, and painful when touching. Being aware of these signs and symptoms can help in early detection of breast cancer. There are other preventative measures. One is self-examination of the breast a week after menstruation (men can exam the breast on the same date of each month). There are three types of examination: lying down, standing before a mirror, and in the shower. If these examinations are done on a routine basis this will help in early detection of breast cancer The second is a physical examination which should be done every year. The third is a mammogram which should beHaken every 2-3 years over the age of 40, and every 3-5 years between the age of 20-39. With all these measures you will have a even better chance of being aware of your breast and the changes in them.
