Plain and simple—the 'Dogs cannot march up to the bowl committee with a 7-5 record on their resume. And they have a job to do in order to make that presentation look as presentable as possible. The process will be like an interview with the bowl committee so they can get hired to the Holiday Bowl, California Bowl, or Raisin Bowl and wallop Bowling Green or somebody. In basketball, the Bulldogs began their season anxious as hell waiting in the gym hallway to get in to start practice. You could bear them pounding the floor with their .sneakers and scratching the metal door like animals in a cage. No joke. By the time head Coach Gary Colson arrived, the door was spitting sparks. Expect them to be a typical Colson team too—run, run, run, light up the scoreboard like a Christmas tree, excel on their home court, get to the playoffs, then flicker out They don't appear to have the size and firepower that some other WAC hoop squads have, but they may have more intelligence, cohesi veness, and savvy than they do. That's another Colson trait Getting back to the pigskin... I call next week's game against Utah 42-20, Bulldogs. FSU needs this win to keep their season with a purpose, and I think they can do it. They've learned a lot by playing with the big boys in the WAC this year. Next year, they will seriously threaten when T.D. is a year older, more wiser and more mature. He's already strong and mobile and has the arm. Who is T.D.? In case you ask, he plays Q.B., and it would be a, criminal lockup not to have watched him dominate the Cowboys on Saturday night. He owned Wyoming in the first two quarters. More games like that, and the -Dogs can be riding his arm into a slew of postseason match ups for sure in the next two years. Or one, I should say. Know why? 'Cause there's this event coming up in April '94 that you won't want to miss. That's when T.D. will go in the draft (as a junior), probably to Seattle. Then, the Seahawks will solve the dilemma on who to .snap the ball to every week.
