It wasn't until Anthony Daigle pounded bome a three- yard touchdown run with 2:39 to go that the Bulldogs' 42-31 barnburner win over Wyoming was sealed, and the Red Wave's 31,088 patrons could rjreathea long sigh of relief. The Bulldogs were looking to post their second straight win for tbe first time this season, and it looked early on that they were going to do it in pinball- machine sty le— with a28-point gorge in tbe first IS minutes. Qiiarterback Trent Dilfer and company drew blood on the first two possessions, mixing it i up well. After Ron Rivers sliced for 22 yards-on his first three carries, wideout Michael Ross had time to get behind the Cowboys' secondary for a 52-yard strike. Boom—the 'Dogs were up 7-0. On the next drive, the Bulldogs drove 73 yards in six plays to another score. Dilfer hit Malcolm Seabron on a 27-yard TD pass to rise up 14-0. They would get another on Anthony Daigle's one-yard TD blast It was 21-0. On the ensuing kickoff, Wyoming's Ryan Christophierson couldn't hang on totheSahortkkkandthcBuUdogs' Gabe Romero recovered. Fresno State, which averaged 160 yards rushing in its last mree mines against Washington State, Louisiana Tech and BYU, has racked up more than 200 yards in its last three games. Senior fullback Lorenzo Neal and running backs Ron Rivers and a\nthony Daigle combined for 250 yards .Saturday night against Wyoming. Neal continued to run up the career rushing bidder running for 98 yards on 14 carries. He is now fourth on the career list with 2,127 yards and needs 110 yards to move into third and 373 yards to become the second Bulldog ever to rush for 2,500 yards in a career. Witness the 24th ranked Fresno State women's volleyball team. The Bulldogs lost a match they should have won Tuesday night to Cal Poly-SLO and they were mad. Friday night at the North Gym, the spikers took their anger out on San Diego State, 15-4,15-13,10- 15 and 16-14. The victory kept the BuUojpgs (7-1, 13-8) a match behind BYU for the WAC title. The Cougars are at the North Gym Nov. 13. But before that the Bulldogs hit the road for two must-win matches . 'vith Colorado State and Wyoming. The .Aztecs, who were swept in the season series, fell to 3-5 in the conference and 18-7 overall. According to JenniferCraw and Andrea Radmilovich, the spikers made sure they were ready for SDSU. * "We were fired up," Craw said. "I know I didnt want to lose again. It was nice to beat a team in conference twice in one year. I'm ' glad we came back. I knew we could do it "After Cal Poly we needed to prove something," Radmilovich said. . As a reminder to Tuesday night, when they were unfocused, the spikers came- out to warm-ups thinking one thing—focus. "We needed to focus," FSU head Coach Lindy Vivas said.
